Adam thanks for this impactful video. Depression and Diabetes are common. More then most think. Great job on explaining the symptoms and being passionate about seeking help. We should be afraid of seeking help.
I think depression and diabetes must be even harder to manage. Not only do high and low BGs change my mood.... but some of the treatment options for depression and bipolar have warning for diabetes. Some cause high weight change or loss that can be an added problem with managing BGs.
Adam, thank you for sharing your story and taking the time to explain depression in a way that others not only can understand but can also see that there is help out there. I just finished a one year internship working in day treatment center working with clients with bipolar disorder. Many of the people I worked with had type 2 as well so I was able to work with them and really address the emotional side of diabetes. Depression does affect not only you but the people around you, it affects your relationships. I cannot stress enough that depression and bipolar are medical conditions and there is help available! Please speak to your doctor if you are experiencing symptoms, there are many medications that can help, as can therapy.
Thank you for this video and the link info. I love the videos amd information on 1 Happy Diabetic but, I feel bad watching it because I am Type 2 and not Type 1. (It's all my fault in the first place.) I am still in my mid 20's and I am finding it very hard to deal with. I also have had doubts with depression before I was told I had diabetes. It doesn't seem to get any better. Anyway, thank you for your post. It has made my day. I hope a few people will now understand a bit more. ( I am showing this to some of my friends.)
