About Me

I  just celebrated my 42nd anniversary of being diagnosed with diabetes (at age 8).  I am on a Minimed 722, but not currently using the CGMS (gave it up last year).

Luckily, (and I do mean "luckily"), I don't have any major complications.  Just recently diagnosed with very mild retinopathy and neuropathy.  I do have limited movement in most of my joints (especially shoulders and hands), which my endo attributes to the diabetes (not arthritis).

Married for 28 years and have 2 children.

I used it regularly for a year. My insurance never covered it and I was having issues with the sensors (skin irritation from the tape, bleeding, soreness, etc). I could barely get 3 days from a sensor because of the skin issues...frustration finally won out and I stopped. HOWEVER...I was able to fine tune my pump settings for during the night, which I couldn't have done without the CGMS. I do plan on trying it again, hopefully my new insurance company will cover it this time.
