About Me

My life as a diabetic with my blood sugar well over 1,000 and did not receive insulin until death seemed imminent with only a few days to live. My muscles burnt up, my feet were loose in my shoes and my clothes hung on me because my entire body had shrunk. I remember going to the county fair with my family, and I was so weak, I leaned against a telephone pole and slithered to the ground. My legs spawled in the dry powedery dust, and I could no longer even walk a mile. My chest pounded, and I was sure I was about to die from a heart attack. When I ate noodles, the food came out as noodles in the bathroom. If I ate corn beef, I could smell the meat in my urine. My urine came out a sticky as corn syrup used to make candy. In a few weeks, I could hardly move. I was awake, but often could not even think through the most simple tasks.

My family expected me to die, and nerve damage left me screaming though the night. After treatment, I did not even sleep for more than five minutes for the first 60 days, and the sleep deprivation made me start to go crazy. After I could walk a bit, I even thought about jumping in front of a semi to commit suicide. I begged family members to shoot me. However, I survived, and I have no idea how. Finally, I ended up in a wheelchair and mostly bed ridden. One day, I decided the heck with this I am going to walk again. It was tough at first. My joints had frozen up and I had to endure huge pain while trying to learn to walk again. I remember one morning after screaming all night, my mother came to my bedroom after I finally quieted down and she thought I was dead.

I had gotten to a point, I had trouble even swallowing food. But my mother pushed me to eat. And finally, I began to gain weight back. For five years, I walked with a limp after that recovery. Through it all, I became a diabetic researcher. Research has established how the bones, intestines, liver, brain, the immune system and sexual function all improve with insulin. I further have concluded through my research and evaluation of other research done by other scientists that using short acting insulin injected every two hours makes the diabetic function as normal and as healthy as any non diabetic if they don't eat excessive calories. My research has taken me not to what is most profitable for drug companies and the medical system but what is the most important thing: the health of all diabetics. Also, many have the mentality that diabetes is about obesity, and I say that is not true. Jay Cutler a football quarterback is diabetic and he is as fit as they come. Further, about 130 children die from diabetes every day in the United States. That should concern any one of us who are parents of diabetic children.

My research has also brought me to the discovery diabetic related high cholesterol is more linked to insufficient insulin, or diabetics are provided the wrong type of insulin.

The problem for the best treatment lies in profits by the drug companies, medical clinics, funding drug based research grants at universities and hospitals concerned about maintaing a positive cash flow.
