I have type 1 diabetes and am loving being a member of thediabetes online community. The DOC is important because it helps PWD'sconnect to other PWD's. Knowing others are going through the samethings I am, I'm more likely to take care of myself! I have grown up invarious towns and cities in Western Missouri. I grew up as a small towngirl; until I was 14 I lived in towns with less than 1000 people livingin them. Graduated from high school in Springfield, Missouri (home ofthe first of The Bachelors, Brad Pitt, and Bob Barker).I am a writer, and advocate, a musician, and a blackberry addict.

I have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes since November of 1998. I was 11 years old.
