How about the family (which includes a retired prof. from the U of T Medical school and a researcher on diet, exercise and type 2 and a step-family (which includes 3 R.N.s) and the in-laws (my family) who are all in DEEP DENIAL.. I think the GANG is hilarious! My one sister an ultrasound technician when I started talking about low, medium and high glycemic index foods looked at me as if I had become some kind of weird foodie or white food freak. "No, no!" I protested the nutritionist at the Diabetes Education Centre talk us this. Every diabetic knows about it." She relaxed a little at that statement and said, "Well, I guess so." uncertainly.
Then, there was the R.N. who screamed at me, "Have you ever worked a day in your life?" I recall being at a baby shower once with her where she said she spent the night shift in the neonatal intensive care nursery reading The Thorn Birds.. "Gee! I wish I had a night shift like that." is my only comment. We've had a crazy day that started with a 2.4 and now we're back to 4.8 after going up to 14.0 despite many correction boluses.
I did write the attitude story but I forgot to post it under my own login, whoops!
