So I heard from my doctor today and she said my A1C was 7.8..... HUH? I just started the pump and CGMS March 15th and before that I was on lantus and humalog injections. My A1C was 6.7 in January, I don't understand how it could have risen so much! I have been working with my basal rates for a while to get them adjusted properly but I'm a little frustrated! I am 1 unhappy diabetic today. I feel like the big change and all my hard work  wasn't worth it. HELP! Has anyone had this problem???

Changing to a pump can be hard to say the least.  I found when I switched to a pump my A1C went up a little as well.  It was so much easier to eat!  So I did, lol.

Your hard work is worth it, you are still very new actually to the pump so don't give up now.

There is a great book every pumper should own called "Pumping Insulin" by john walsh       I bet you will find some answers to the questions you have there.

You got it!

Thanks Bill! I really appreciate you're advise! I haven't given up yet it was a little discouraging though, I won't lie. I've been a diabetic for  20 years so I know it's not a predictable disease, but I have had many challenges. I will say since being on the pump I have only been low once in the morning, before it was everyday. That is such a relief! I don't have to wonder if I will wake up for work.
