Whats up everyone, saw this site on youtube and thought I would contribute. Was diagnosed on 10-15-10, at 18 and I am still 18. Went into the ER after losing 70 pounds, having extreme thirst, using the bathroom alot, vomiting, and stomach pains. In the hospital I was iin Ketoacidocis and was hospitalized for three days. It has been hard to adjust but I am proud of myself that I have been able to control my diabetes to the point im only over 200 if I eat what I'm not supposed to. I am on injecctions 2 injections of 70/30 a day and i have a scale for fast acting insulin whichhhhh i am happy to rarely use :D I am a very new diabetic and I am still learing my body. I hope to post here alot more mainly in the young adult forum but I'm intrested in becoming more involved. I do have my own youtube channel that i will be doing more diabetic stuff on but I mainly use it for carf audio and stuff but anyway, glad to be here.

Hey,

I've been a type one diabetic for 16 years now. I too went through something of hard time with my diabetes when I was your age. I'm 27 years old now, and have been pumping insulin for over a year now. Switching from MDI to an insulin pump is one of the best decisions I've made around my diabetes. If I could leave you with one thought it would be to try to educate yourself around your diabetes as much as possible through books the internet etc. And although it may stink at times try to take your diabetes seriously at all times, and stay on top of your BG's, bolusing for meals, and high BG's, and testing BG values frequently. Trust me the pay off of staying on top of your diabetes will be great. Not only will you feel better, but it will have a healthier outcome in the long run.

Best of luck,

-Aaron

I was diagnosed 10-12-2010. I spent my 13 birthday in the hospital, I had a very dear friend of mine pass away because of Diabetes. That was only a view months ago, every 8 seconds a person dies because of it. Thats when I decideds that I would make a movement. In 6 months I hope to have my own small bussiness.  I want to work with JDRF in the next 5 years. I want to change the attitude on everyone
