Hi everybody I just found your forum on the internet searching for moreinformation about diabetes. My name is Pine and I have been a diabetic (Tipe 2)for the last 15 years. For the last 3 years I have been controlling it withexercise and diet only. That is not entirely true because I have been getting alot of help from other diabetics here on the internet. With out them I wouldnever have been able to get off the couch and move away form the TelevisionSet. Breaking old habits is not easy but if we put our mind to it and share ourexperiences small victories can makes the differences.

I will be “lurking” for a while here and try not to step on anybodies toes.

Pine

Hi Pine, read your post and good to hear you have been controlling your type 2 diabetes for 3 years with diet and exercise. :) As for me I controlled mine really well since age 26,started with Gestational/ LADA  I'm 43 now and this year I got an insulin pump.  At first it was easy to control it with the diet an exercise, but this is a progressive disease, and it takes an uphill battle daily to keep your numbers right so hang in there!  Glad you reminded me to get off the couch, and away from the TV! I can relate to breaking old habits, recently I had surgery for diabetic neurapathy related carpal tunnel lost 75% use of my hands luckily some % has come back, but it put me in check to get back into good habits, and this small victory will make a difference if I put my mind back to taking better care of myself.  Welcome to the forum nice to meet you:)

Hi hucgirl8

Thank for the reply,

I think that I am starting to get to my hill - It becomes more difficult to control my BG’severyday. And although I try to be more physical but after 3 years I still can’t get a liking to it(exercise). I miss sleeping late in the morning and coming home at night and just loaf around.

It seems we are creators of habit because if I break one habit (drinking soda) I just replace it with another (coffee). I just found out that coffee/tea (caffeine) doesn’t add any calories but it does make your body more insulin resistant.

Please tell more about “diabetic neurapathy related carpaltunnel “
