Hi everyone, great site by the way, glad to have found this. Im not diabteic but my partner of 6 years is type 1. he got it when he was 25, hes now 35.

in the 6 years with him he has seizured 3 times, very severley to, almost dying, lucky for him i was next to him in bed each time so i could take action, one time he was vomiting blood uncontrolably and frothing at mouth, the blood was grom three chunks in his tounge he had done with his teeth as he was fitting. so ambulance is called and we end up im hospital each time for 24 + hrs untill he comes to, and remembers who I am. All been very full on, all caused by drinking ..... now hes on a better insulan- lantus- thats keeps him alright during the night...

i want to know how common a seizure is for diabetics and if anyone can share there stories?   .. thanks

I have had several seizures in my 20+ years of being a person with diabetes. I think they are the scariest thing for someone to witness and personally have. It is my goal of a diabetic to not have seizures, literally.

If you saw my video on Alcohol and Diabetes, drinking causes your liver to not focus on releasing glucose when your Blood Sugars gets low. It focuses on filtering the alcohol. So normally when you can rely on your Liver to help treat your lows, it’s not there and Blood Sugars keep dipping.

i have had seizures 2 times...first time in school and i had fel down unconscious and my last words had been Im hungry xD...even i dont remember but my friends said so.

Second one was when i was asleep but lucky that my sister saw that i wasnt alright and my mom helped me at that moment...

3 weeks earlier i was on a camp Diabetes Summer Camp 2010 Macedonia ...and we had an topic like this there we were all teneagers and most of us hadnt had seizures except me and 6 other friends so my doctor saw that most of them were frightened ...and he calculated and it was approximately to every diabetic that he/she would have a seizure on every 20 years,

and he said that we dont have to be frightened if we inform the people around us for our problem it wont be serious and it just will pass away...
