So today I had a bad day. I have not had a day like this in months. I woke up feeling well bad this morning. Checked my CGM, pump, and this is what I saw:

Come to find out that I was without insulin all night. I know my pump shows that there is insulin in it but there is no reservoir in my pump. I forgot to put it in after I filled it. OMG what was I thinking. So I put the reservoir in did a correction and went back to bed.

Seven hours passed and it was time for my day to start, to go to work. With a big day ahead of me I needed everything to go smoothly including my bg. When my meter greeted me by saying:

I knew this could not be good. BG over 400. Why? How?  I checked the tubing... everything. (sigh) :( The only thing to do was to change the infusion set that I had just put on. In doing that I found the problem. A bent cannula I was like what the...are you kidding me...shut the front door. I had nerver had a cannula bend like that.

Oh my word how did this happen:

I love the ugly day forum I am feeling better already just from venting. Thanks for listening.

I am so glad you feel beter already.  When I was reading your post, I was getting mad and upset.  I was like, arugh I hate when my BG is freakishly high and can't find out the reason.  I felt you there.

Thanks for posting and sharing.  It makes me feel better I am not the only one who is human.

I'm so sorry abut the series of numbers, and the HI! I hope everything comes back down in normal range in no time. What kind of infusion set is it? Good question on as to how it got bent, but another good thing in a way is when you felt bad, checked you took into action. Sorry for the rebound to HI, hopefully you can find the root of the problem with the bent cannula.

Bill I hate it when my BG is that high and can't find the reason why too.

I have been so busy planning my wedding on top of eveything else that I have to do I could not beleive I forgot to put the reservoir in my pump. I guess you can say my life has been a little crazy.

Happy to show you that you are not the only one who is human.I am human too.

My numbers did not start coming down until around 12:30 in the afternoon. Stress at work normally would have made me go low but because of how high I was the stress just kept he high. After the meeting I had to be at I went home, away from the stress and then my BG started going down.

The infusion set in the picture is an Inset infusion set.

After my meter said HI I did not talk to it for a little while I don't like it when it says that.

As for the bent cannula I don't know how that happened and I don't think I will ever know.
