You know,

A lot has to be said for the progression of medical research and technology in general. If I had been diagnosed back in the 40's or 50's I might not be here typing this to you right now. We have gone from testing with chem strips that gave a general range of BG values once or twice a day to meters/CGM sensors so precise you can show trending data. Its insane. Anyhow, back to the topic. I know fingersticks, and shots (21 year vet here) and infusion set changes suck (yes....they do) but...........WE HAVE THE COOLEST TOYS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean Jeeze Louise. Have you seen how far its come just in the last 5 years? We have multiple thousand dollar machines that all talk to each other. We have 1/40th of a unit control of insulin delivery. We have meters that have more processing power than the Apollo moon lander! That is so epic. Then we have candy coated paint jobs and personalization which I wont even get into here. Yes it stinks that our dependence relies on us poking and prodding ourselves, but hey, I got a pump thats got as much precision as an italian sports car, and probably a better paint job too ;-)
