I think I will just observe the discussion and use this for a socialogical review of diabetics.

Ok, but only nice reviews please. :-)
Thanks for finding our site and I hope your observation goes well.
Here I hope you will find a diabetic community that is open about the challenges we face everyday. We try to help our members here deal with frustrations (because we all have them) and stay on a positive supporting diabetes path.
We like to mix our diabetes with humor and smiles. Because humor and smiles are sugar free and stress raises my Blood Sugar... Really it does... (some diabetes humor there)
Good Luck,

I was diagnosed about three years ago, brought home an insulin pin, and just could not do it. So I went the medication route. Am one of the rare people who freak out on Metformin. Actos and an Atkins diet were keeping things in pretty good control, until I took a class for diabetics and added carbs back in my diet. So the last six months have just been denial, and the glucose was getting worse and worse. I told the doctor that I'd been sticking my finger for a few years, and maybe I'd be able to face the needle. Yesterday was my first flexpen shot and today my second. Bill's shot video got me over the hurdle. And his most important question was...important. And, no, I don't think I've accepted it yet...

Fred, I am so happy that you have seen the insulin shot video I did. That fact that you said that video go you over the hurdle makes me so happy for you! I've had diabetes over 23 years and I still stuggle with accepting the fact that I have it. Its a hard disease to deal with. Even if you have "perfect control," diet, and exercise... it's still there there!!! There lies the struggle my friend. I am glad this site and video gives you some gas to fuel your fire. Best Regards,
