I have o to no luck with the medical team I have to work with, they do listen and do not do anything to help you out! I tell them I am out of cotrol and have tried everything to fix it, but they have done 0 to help, but to tell me to keep better journals of Blood sugars, which I do, right now I test 6-7 times a day and my A1C was 9.1 three months ago it was 11 so 9 is down and even after going through a motorcycle acciden on june 5th. I think I need new insulin therapy but thye have made no attemp to change, that is what /i must do going through a gov run hospital for I have 0 health insurance. If any one has any suggetions please let me know breeze

Breeze, I understand your frustrations. Not getting the right medical attention and care is one thing I have gone through. Not having health insurance is another thing I have delt with as well. My diabetes suffered when I didn't have the right medical care.
The next time you are at your visit show your MDs your journal you have been doing. Maybe they didn't want to make adjustments because they didn't have enough information at your last visit.
I would ask them about different option of insulins if that is a concern. Try to get them to talk about different therapy options. Get a game plan. Tell them you are frustrated with your numbers, A1C and therapy choice now and if there is anything you can change.
Eating right and exercise are easy things to say, but hard for most to do. Especially after an accident. But this could be your push in the right direction.
One of the hard things about diabetes is that you only see your Dr every 3 or more months, so most of the work is up to ourselves. Not having a medical team and plan that is on track with you can make it difficult. So ask those questions, see if you can get on a plan and see if there is a number you can call to update them on progress and problems you are having.

1happy diabetic thank you for you kind word of inspiraion, I have shown my medical log, they say it needs more information I test 5-6 time daily, friday I had 5 insulin reactions, by time i had the last one up to a normal value i was beat. yesterday a bs of 342 gave apporiate amount to bring down according to dr orders, and in 1 1/2 hours down to 36 2 hours later vack up to 120 ans 1 hur later back to 32 so if you do what you have to regulate you have no life and you if you have a life you pay for it . I have asked for different types of insulin therapy, they say Lantuis and sliding scale works for me just watch it better, getting a litlle lost for hope at this point, lets hope something startds to work breeze

That just stinks. The lows can really take the wind out of your sails. I would make sure to record those events with the amount of insulin you took to hopefully get a better correction ratio for your BGs.
Sorry to hear about your ups and downs. I have felt in the past that when I had my numbers swing like that, it is really a challege mentally to manage. Those are the hardest days

Hang in there! I applaud you for making your diabetes a priority even though you don't have insurance. Your A1C shows you are heading in the right directions. Have you ever read the book Think Like a Pancreas by Scheiner & Goldstein? I hear it is a great book for people on shots and it explains alot about how to avoid the high to low swings that can happen on insulin therapy.

Sorry, If I seem to off topic. (once again) I got my AC1 test done less then 3 months ago and it was 5.9 so I thought that the doctors could have just made a BIG mistake and that I was free and clear. I have was sent back for more blood tests last week and I still waiting for the results. In the mean time I haven't been eating good at all. I am eating whatever I want whenever I want. Plus, I am not checking my blood for going on maybe three weeks. The last number I did see when I checked was 12.3. I've not been feeling great for the past week and today was pretty bad. I could sleep the whole day away. If I didn't have dogs to walk and I would be sitting watching movie and drinking pop. Bad me! Sorry I know this is in the worng place.

Have a great week and try to live our lives to the fullest, mt bike will be back and I will ride free .

I know you get tired of of watching and testing and trying to keep thing in control , but your A1c levels are great , can I have them? you do want to know what mine is , and how hard it is to get them down ,when you have had this many many years, doing what you want when you want to. For years I had good control and I did what I want when ever I wanted , It does catch up , just be carful that is all.Diabetes is something that I hate sometimes, but it is what I have and I have to take car of it. Good luck

Take it slow. There is nothing worst then rushing into good control. It is a setup for disaster.
You need to take time to get your BGs in good range. If not you will feel low all the time and no one wants that.
Try some heathly green foods in place of some carbs, try drinking some water before meals to reduce your insulin needs after meals.
Start small then once you get the hang of it, try something else to focus on improvement.
Breeze best of luck :-)

Thank you for the help, I have had a good couple of days. why who knows???????? maybee the diabetes likes me this week , or it actually be settleing down , I hope one way or another, it stays on this path, at least I fell better.. The stress of a relationship and trying to eat right is a pain. He does the grocery shoping, and does not get anything for my diabetic diet or needs, just crap. so I get stuff on a daily basis, when i can afford it. It really is hopeless trying to tell him, what I can and can not eat, So having to do this battle on a da;iy basis is impossible. but for the time being I am going to keep up with the tight control and over testing. Have a great day , be blessed
