Just curious.. Does anyone know how often insurance will approve a new pump? With all the new advancements in technology, I was just wondering how many years before most insurance company's will allow you to get a newer pump? My daughter just got hers last year, so I'm sure we'll have to wait atleast a few years.

You can always check about upgrade programs from your pump company.  You will have to pay the upgrade fee out of pocket but you will get the new pump ASAP.  The down side is that the warranty on the new pump ends when the warranty on your old pump did.  Plus they charge more each year you have had the old pump.  I think Animas was $499 for one year out and $699 for 2 years out.  So it is only worth the upgrade cost if there is something really great about the new version that you think will help.  For me it was worth it to be able to bolus from my meter so I upgraded from the 2020 to the Ping.
